Helpful Hints
  • Although an electronic cigarette is very much like smoking a traditional cigarette, it does take a little effort to master.  After all, it is an electronic gadget, so it is mainly a matter of practicing different methods of puffing.  The atomizer can overheat if puffed too long or too hard, so puffing should be slow and steady.
  • It is best to order the variety pack of cartridges when ordering the kit.  You might be surprised at which flavor you end up liking the best.  I was sure that I would like one flavor the best, but I have found that the flavor I thought I would like the least is the flavor I like the most.
  • If you are a heavy smoker, you might want to purchase a couple of extra batteries.  I like to have at least two batteries loaded at all times in order to be able to puff more often without causing the atomizer to overheat.  Being the extreme chain smoker that I am, I will panic if all of my batteries need charging at the same time, so I go overboard with the supplies.  Most smokers will not be nearly as extreme as I, but having a couple of extra batteries might come in handy at some point.
  • Sometimes, it takes a little while for a new cartridge to begin to produce a significant amount of vapor.  Don't be eager to discard a new cartridge too quickly.  It may take about thirty to forty-five minutes to get the full affect of the vapor.  However, even as an extreme chain smoker, I will only use three cartridges a day most days.  Occasionally, I will use four, but definitely not everyday.
  • I have found that the atomizer seems to work best if kept clean of liquid residue.  So each time I change a cartridge, I use a coffee filter to clean the base.  It is also wise to blow through the atomizer to make sure that there is no air flow problem.  Occasionally I will mist a paper towel and just blot, don't rub, the tip of the atomizer to clean it of residue.
  • Be sure to save your cartridges.  They can be cleaned and refilled with Johnson Creek Smoke Juice.  See the link above for information about refilling cartridges.  Johnson Creek does not at this time sell empty cartridges to fit the blu electronic cigarette, so it is important to save your blu cartridges.
After smoking three packs a day for over fifty years,  I switched to the new smoke.   Try the greatest alternative to traditional cigarettes at less than half the cost.
